Indy Saints FC opened their 2026 OVPL campaign on the road against Impact FC in Greenfield, Indiana. Despite a spirited effort from the Saints, with Steven Peoples @st3vejr sending Gideon Nelson @i_like_spoonz a dime ball and Gideon bringing it down to his feet with a great touch and at 4:00 on the clock putting the Saints up 1-0. The Impact was relentless with their attack and proved too strong on the night, running out 3–1 winners on a hat trick by the Impact's #10
Gideon Nelson grabbed Indy Saints' goal, gave the travelling side a moment to celebrate on what was a tough opening night. The result is a lesson to build from — the season is long and the squad is hungry to respond.
Coach Keegan stated after the game that both he and the team made some mistakes and need to clean them up. Assistant Coach Mark pointed out that the game changed when we started giving up the ball on bad passes. He pointed out that the Saints gave up the ball 12 times in the second half on bad passes alone. It's hard to control the ball when we are giving it up to the other team.
